About the new voting incentive, I am so glad you went with the Manga Style. Not only does Goat look awesomer but I might not have been aware of this series for a very long time or at all.
To my editor’s credit he didn’t try to push me one way or the other. I just gave him both versions to increase my chance of getting published. He asked me, “How do YOU feel about the manga style version?” I said, “Now that I’ve drawn it I can’t see doing it any other way.” He said, “Good cause all the editors love it.”
Not only that, Titania is based on my wife, Goat is based on an ex-girlfriend, Cosmo and Vogue are based on two voice actors I work with at Funimation…the list goes on and on
OMG! Which voice actors?! Are they leads in One Piece? And is Oberon based on anyone because I think they must be the sort of person that when they walk in a room everyone stops and stares…
Actually Oberon is the one of the few not based on anyone. I just let him tell his own story. With Vogue and Cosmo I used Laura Bailey and Colleen Clinkenbeard as the basis. Not so much for their own personalities but how I thought they would act out the characters. That’s where they started anyway. But as soon as I started putting them into the story they took on a life of their own.
In the current story the Sphinx is based on Christina Vee.
