Depends on the mythos. Brownies generally are mischievousness but usually helpful in the end

In Irish lore brownies are generally helpful. They do house work, cook, and fix things. That is until they are offended or you try to give them clothing. Then they go crazy without a word. Married guys, does this sound familiar?

And I think they really like eating mushrooms! Not sure about this, though.

Yep. It’s interesting that in Harry Potter, clothing grants freedom to the house elves…a very close relation to brownies I supect.

The ‘original’ Puck, so am I right in assuming that Goat is only the second then, it’s not a long-standing thing yet?

Well no, fairies are kinda immortal so they dont pass things down too often. Goodfellow quit and tried suicide, but the being dead part didnt take.

It is very hard to kill ethereal beings…if it’s possible at all. I honestly think they can only be reinvented.

Gyt, that’s actually on the “to be written” list for me. Since the Puck is a title in WS that means there must have been a Puck before Robin Goodfellow. According to myth Robin Goodfellow was the child of Oberon and a human Milkmaid. He was supposedly born at the time of Robin Hood…some even speculate they are the same (now there’s a good story idea). But faeries have been around long before Robin Hood so there had to be prior Pucks.

Before Titania, Mab was queen (although many say they are one in the same). And Oberon has only been around since Julius Ceaser’s time (he is the child of Julius and Queen Mab.
