Okay not ALL of this happened. I didn’t say anything like that at the end. I just stared at Gayla and she stared back. The look in our eyes was complete hopelessness for the human race. And please don’t think I’m insulting cashiers. I’ve been a cashier many times in my life. It’s the zombies…the zombies!
I’m a cashier on 7 eleven and we don’t do any of that shit, lol I mean people can be so stupid sometimes. I just tell them they can get cash back but only up to $10 like normal and they do the rest themselves lol, but no cash back on debit what the?
I wouldn’t have minded if he said he didn’t give cash back at all. But he actually cancelled the transaction, had us do it again only to tell us we couldn’t get cash back that way either. It’s not like he wasn’t there for the whole conversation. Believe me my wife is not a soft talker either.
Sounded like he didn’t know what he was doing
It’s getting to the point where zombies are the only ones willing to do the job.
But with all the unemployment? I think it’s something else. I really believe it’s all the readily available forms of entertainment we have now. We never have to be bored. So when we work a boring job we’re thinking about our break when we can get on facebook, text, play a game etc. I worked as a cashier at a pharmacy, a pizza joint and a couple of hotels.. but that was back in the days before internet and smart phones. Those jobs were just as boring then but when a customer broke up the tedium it got you jazzed, “Thank God! Something to do!”I think we’re still in a transitional phase. We haven’t quite got the hang of having tons of entertainment and being able to function as a society. I believe we will though. We just haven’t taken that evolutionary multi-tasking step yet
